I bought this product mainly because of the rating it received on the cosmetic database website. I wanted something for my hair that was not dangerous to my health. That being said, I have thin curly hair that is light brown/dark blond. If I use too much of this product, my hair gets a little crunchy. I have gotten the amount down to where I feel I can avoid that outcome. Another reviewer commented about it leaving small white flakes in your hair. Unfortunately, I have noticed this too. It is worse when you use more product (obviously) and when you have dark hair (another, obviously). I do think this gel works well for me, but again, I have thin hair so I don't have to use much (hence less flaking) and lighter hair (so it isn't as noticeable). The smell is light and fresh.
